"I am Joanne Phillips (the founder of JMP Petsitting) and live in Bray, Maidenhead, Berkshire with my husband, teenage daughters, dogs, cats, cornsnake,bearded dragon, leopard gecko and fish. We have also had rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. We are totally passionate about ALL pets and their care and welfare."
I was born and raised in Taplow and attended schools in Burnham. After School I achieved a LONDON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DIPLOMA in Business Studies at Windsor and Maidenhead College.
At the age of 17 I started work as a Secretary/PA for a Managing Director of a large local company. I travelled the UK to meetings and had constant interaction with the public and the business side of the Company. I worked within this role for many years and then when our children were small I went on to work as a Carer for the Elderly and also a Carer for Special Needs, (whilst giving support to their families).
I enjoyed both professions as I have always had a strong head for business and get great satisfaction through helping people. However, to work with animals has always been my great passion for as long as I can remember. My Grandparents owned a Cattery and Kennel (and also enjoyed helping Rescue Animals), so it is in my genes and I feel has been passed on through me to make a difference.
Over the last 24 years I have obtained valuable experience within Animal Welfare, Animal Care and Animal Behaviour, (having been continually involved with many Animal Organisations and Charities). I have worked with cats and dogs from difficult backgrounds for the RSPCA, TVAW, Cats Protection, Hope Rescue and Labrador/Retriever Rescue - both as a Volunteer and also as a Fosterer. Animal Psychology has always been of great interest to me whilst working with Rescue Animals and training ferril cats I have also found extremely rewarding.
To start my own Pet Sitting Business was always my goal and ambition. In January 2000 I achieved my goal and now run a very successful Pet Sitting Business JMP Petsitting.
Since founding my Pet Sitting Business I have also specialised and trained in Canine Psychology and Clicker Training. I have an OCN qualification in Canine Psychology through The Animal Care College, Ascot.
My business is based on the belief that customers' needs (and the care, health and happiness of their pets), are of the utmost importance. JMP Petsitting is totally committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of business is from repeat customers and referrals.
Services are personal, flexible and are arranged on a daily or ad hoc basis, (either during the week or at weekends and holidays). I offer honest, reliable pet care and we give animals both the physical and mental stimulation that they need, along with love and total care.
